We're saying a BIG hello to these long summer days and balmy evenings. And savouring every moment of this gorgeous sunshine and light evenings means taking dining outside. Whatever outdoor space you have at home or near your home, you can enjoy summer dining to its fullest with these simple steps.

Indoor out

One of the best ways to enjoy dining alfresco is to bring the comfort of indoors to the outside. This means setting a scene that feels inviting, relaxed, and has the cosiness of indoors. Add blankets and throws, comfy cushions, and plenty of lighting.

It’s those little touches that make it a real occasion, without too much fuss. Hurricane vases, tea light holders and votives are a super simple way to dress your outdoor space.

Top tip: Add citronella candles to your tea light holders to ward off pesky bugs

Summer in a bowl

When it comes to your outdoor dining menu, simple summer salads, mezze boards and sharing platters are ideal. There’s something about sunshine and sharing food that creates a really relaxed atmosphere.

Top tip: Wooden boards like these are a great way to make mouthwatering mezzes and platters.

Mocktails and Cocktails

Whatever your tipple, make sure you have plenty of refreshments. Pitchers and jugs  loaded with ice are a great way to keep your drinks cool and casual. Why not give some of our botanical cocktails a try?

Top tip: Herbs from the garden are a great ingredient for summery drinks. Think rosemary, mint, lavender, and even a touch of basil!

Light and Fresh

Finally, it’s those finishing touches that make ALL the difference. Pick flowers from your garden to decorate the table, or divide a beautiful bunch of flowers with some foliage to create a simple centrepiece.

Lovely linen napkins (like our Boston pink linen) and scented candles will just finish it all off beautifully.

Top tip: Don’t forget a little music – a good summer playlist never goes amiss!

Now all that’s left to do is to eat, drink, and soak up that sunny goodness.
