Oh hi there summer... finally the Great British Summertime is here and doesn't it feel all kinds of good? The long days, the warm summer evenings, and a chance to head outdoors and enjoy the simpler things. And on that note, we're sharing a few of our favourite things to really savour some time over these sunny days.

Make time to – Sip

Is it really summer if you’re not indulging in a refreshing cocktail alfresco style? We didn’t think so. Which is why we thought we’d share a couple of cocktails (one alcoholic the other non) for you to mix and muddle your way through the sunshine.

Winchester Rose

This delicious cocktail is courtesy of the fabulous Cabinet Rooms in Winchester. Our editor is from Winchester and can HIGHLY recommend the stunning cocktails here. (Winchester Rose © Cabinet Rooms). You can find out more over on this blog post

Winchester Rose Cocktail
  • 10 ml lemon juice
  • 10ml Pama pomegranate liqueur
  • 20ml Rose syrup
  • 40ml Hendrick’s Gin
  • Shake with ice then double-strain into a chilled coupe
  • Garnish with English rose petals
  • Optional – for a luxe look, add a few flecks of gold leaf

Garden Cooler

We love the name of this – a definite for post-gardening refreshment and it comes from the fabulous Seedlip!

Seedlip Cocktail
  • Seedlip Garden 108: 50ml/2oz
  • Cucumber & Mint Verjus*: 25ml/1oz
  • Sugar Syrup: 1 Tsp
  • Soda: Top
  • Highball full of ice
  • Garnish with Sprig of Thyme

**Add 10-12 mint leaves & 100g Sliced cucumber to 375ml of Verjus and leave overnight. Strain & store in fridge.

Make time to – Read

Make time to – Listen

When it comes to relaxing there’s nothing quite like a good podcast to unwind to. Here are our current favourites that have us tuned in.

Desert Island Discs

Perfect for… lying on the beach. Kick back and listen to the soft tones of Kirsty Young as she interviews her guests on their eight tracks, a book and a luxury that they’d take to a desert island. Indulgence at its finest.
