There’s something special about dishes that move seamlessly from oven to table — no decanting, no fuss, just beautiful food served exactly as it was baked. Our new Mayfield Oven to Table pieces were designed with this simplicity in mind: timeless shapes, considered proportions, and versatile pieces that work just as well for relaxed family suppers as they do for laid-back entertaining.
To celebrate the launch, we’re sharing two favourite recipes baked and served in the Mayfield collection - a much-loved family quiche recipe and a light, raspberry sponge cake. Both are designed to be generous, unfussy and perfect for sharing.
Fridge Raid Quiche
This is the kind of recipe that’s passed down, adapted and made your own over time. In Jason’s family, it’s affectionately known as the “Fridge Raid Quiche” — the perfect way to use up whatever you have to hand.
Crust
- 100g grated cheese
- 100g grated butter
- 100g flour
Mix together with your fingers until combined, then press directly into your dish, the Mayfield Square Oven To Table Dish is 23cm x 7cm. It doesn’t need to be neat - this is a rustic, rough-and-ready base that bakes beautifully crisp and golden.
Filling Ideas
Use whatever you have available. Some favourites include:
- Roasted vegetables
- Tuna
- Butternut squash
- Blue cheese
- Mushrooms
- Cooked red onion
- Lardons
Scatter your chosen filling evenly over the crust.
Custard
- 300ml milk
- 2 eggs
Beat together and pour over the filling. Finish with a little grated Parmigiana or your cheese of choice.
Bake at 180°C for around 30 minutes, until set and golden.
Serve straight from the dish at the table — the silhouette makes it ideal for slicing and sharing. Add a simple salad and you have an effortless lunch or supper.
Raspberry Sponge Cake
Soft, buttery and gently studded with raspberries, this sponge is a true crowd-pleaser.
Sponge
- 260g unsalted butter
- 260g caster sugar
- 5 medium eggs
- 260g self-raising flour
- 1 heaped tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- Handful of raspberries
Preheat the oven to 170°C.
Whisk the butter and sugar together until combined. Add the eggs, flour, baking powder and vanilla extract, then whisk with an electric mixer for 30 seconds until fully combined. Scrape down the sides and whisk again for another 30 seconds.
Gently fold in the raspberries, then spoon into your dish, the Mayfield Round Oven To Table Dish is 26cm x 7cm. Bake immediately for 25–35 minutes, until golden and springy to the touch.
Leave to cool in the dish for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
To Finish
Decorate with a handful of fresh raspberries and a light dusting of icing sugar.
Serve directly from the dish for relaxed gatherings, or transfer to a cake stand for something more formal — either way, the bakeware makes the transition effortless.
Thoughtfully Designed: Beauty Beyond the Bake
Both pieces of Mayfield Oven to Tableware has been designed to look just as good on your table as it does in your oven.
The baking dishes are paired with a separate decorative outer made from handwoven grass rope, creating a natural, textural frame around the glass dish. The outer simply supports the dish for serving - it is removable and not intended for oven use - allowing you to bake safely in the glass dish before placing it into the woven base for presentation.
The soft green scalloped detailing of the rope surround adds a handcrafted feel, complementing rustic wooden tables, relaxed garden lunches and informal gatherings alike.
Whether it’s a golden “Fridge Raid” quiche fresh from the oven or a raspberry sponge dusted in icing sugar, the Mayfield collection makes the transition from kitchen to table seamless — and stylish.
