The story of One.World began in 1989, when Kathy and Sidney Bensohn boarded a plane from Cape Town to London, young family in tow. What started as a short adventure soon turned into something much bigger — a permanent move and the beginnings of a family-run business that would span generations.
Kathy’s first venture was modest but full of heart: importing handcrafted candles from Swaziland. The demand quickly grew, and it wasn’t long before Sid joined her full-time. Together, they dedicated themselves to sourcing beautiful, soulful pieces for the home — and sharing them with others.

More than 30 years on, their sons have taken the reins. Jason now leads the business in the UK, while Jamie heads up One.World’s growing presence in the US. Together, they continue the brand’s legacy with the same spirit and values their parents instilled from the beginning.
What started with candles has grown into a thoughtfully curated collection of furniture and homeware — but the ethos remains the same: create meaningful pieces that invite connection and make everyday living more beautiful.
