Earth Day 2026

words by Glyn Andrews

Every year on 22nd April, millions of people around the world come together to celebrate Earth Day — a moment to reflect, reset, and reconnect with the planet we all share.

How It Began...

Earth Day didn’t start as a celebration. It began in 1970, at a time when pollution was widespread and environmental protections were limited. Sparked by growing public concern, over 20 million people took to the streets in the United States to demand change — a movement that helped lead to the creation of key environmental legislation and agencies.

What started as a single day of action has since grown into a global movement, with over a billion people across more than 190 countries now taking part each year. Today, Earth Day is both a reminder of how far we’ve come — and how much more there is to do.

Small Actions, Collective Impact

At One.World, we’ve always believed that meaningful change doesn’t come from a single moment - it comes from consistent, collective action.

That’s why we partnered with Ecologi.

Ecologi is a climate action platform that enables businesses and individuals to support projects that restore forests, reduce carbon emissions, and protect ecosystems around the world. Their work spans global reforestation efforts and environmental initiatives in regions where they’re needed most - helping to rebuild biodiversity, support local communities, and tackle the climate crisis at scale.

Through this partnership, every order placed with us contributes to something bigger.

Together, we’re helping to fund tree planting projects across the globe - from areas affected by deforestation to regions where restoring forests can have a lasting environmental and social impact.

Because trees do more than grow - they absorb carbon, restore habitats, and help rebalance ecosystems for future generations.

Growing The One.World Forest

What makes this journey meaningful isn’t just the number of trees planted - it’s the collective effort behind it.

With every order, our customers are helping us grow the One.World forest. A shared impact that continues to grow, one small action at a time.

It’s proof that everyday choices - when multiplied - can create something powerful.

Doubling Our Impact This Earth Day

This Earth Day, we’re taking that idea one step further.

From 22nd to 29th April 2026, we’ll be planting 2 trees for every order instead of 1.

A small change, with twice the impact.

Because while Earth Day is a moment in the calendar, caring for our planet is something we can all take part in - every day.

Designing Responsibly, Inside And Out

Our responsibility doesn’t end with the finished piece.

Sustainability shapes how we think, create, and bring each design to life.

Across our collections, we work with reclaimed wood and recycled materials — elements with a past, thoughtfully reworked for the present. By reimagining what already exists, we reduce waste, embrace natural character, and create pieces that feel as meaningful as they look.

It’s a more considered kind of living — where craftsmanship and care for the planet go hand in hand.
