Backing British in the flower stakes...
The wonderful Jay Archer of Jay Archer Floral Design has been selected as one of the 5 florists supporting British Flowers Week. As a long standing trusted Flower School Partner, One World Trading Co has been supplying her with vases, urns and display items for many years, so we were lucky enough to have a cuppa and a chat about how fabulous life is working with beautiful blooms all year round.
Settled in a quiet corner of Hampshire, the JAFD workshop is set on a farm surrounded by woodland and singing birds – it really is as idyllic as it sounds! There is a dedicated consultation room and clients are invited to meet the team to see what they do, peruse the props and ribbon samples and generally soak up what ‘JAFD’ is all about.
We focus primarily on weddings as these tend to be more creative, bigger and honestly it’s just wonderful to part of someone’s special day. Most of our suppliers are British and so our floral creations are very much inspired by the seasons and changing landscapes around us and as such we have a very natural design aesthetic.
It’s obvious from the pure excitement that exudes from Jay when she talks about her work that this is far more than just a job, but working with the most stunning of home grown flowers we’re sure we’d feel the same.
